Summer 2009 Men’s Lingerie Trends
As surveys show, sexy men’s lingerie is one of the most widely spread sex fantasies among women. Some men remain pretty conservative in what refers to their lingerie and styles they prefer and trends they follow. On the other hand, some men try to keep the track of latest Fashion Week events to see what’s hot and what’s not in men’s underwear this or that season.
Here are the main men’s lingerie trends for summer 2009
1. Go ethnic
Ethnic motives are really hot in both outer and underwear this year. This trend was first presented on catwalks of S/S 2009 fashion weeks and then entered stores to fascinate fashionistas both in America and Europe.
From Indian red-brown palette with multiple patterns and textures to Roman, Celtic and Greek prints, ethnic patterned lingerie dominates the market this season. Even Dolce & Gabbana caught the ethnic bug and launched their men’s line featuring traditional Italian prints.
2. Go boxers
Boxers are traditionally favored by men. Comfortable and functional, they are often quoted as the style men prefer most.
Boxers do not have any significant changes for this season. However, some designers itching to get more public attention to their collections come up with crazy yet original boxers ideas. Like for example, a Swedish lingerie company created boxers made of special fabric containing thousands of micro capsules with aromatic liquids and vitamins. While evaporating, this mixture of liquids and vitamins creates a specific aphrodisiac smell.
Generally, when choosing lingerie today pay attention to the fabrics it’s made of. The more natural, the better. Boxers made of cotton are still irreplaceable.
One of the main men’s lingerie innovations this season is skin-like fabric presented by Phantom. It’s very light but great at keeping you warm, so this lingerie is perfect for cold winter days.
3. Go sexy
Show some skin! This year’s trend is exposed buttocks. To follow it, designers change traditional boxers into thong and tanga.
Generally, the more provocative you can go the better. It’ important to keep in mind that besides looking trendy you should also look manly rather than ridiculous.
