Choosing Underwear for Sheer Clothing
Oh, this is tricky. On the one hand, look at the catwalk models from the recent fashion shows some of them look amazing in those sheer blouses and flying dresses. On the other hand, sheer clothing can send the wrong message when worn carelessly. And lingerie plays its role in this.
First and foremost thing to decide is what to show and how to show it. Will you be wearing an ultra sheer blouse or dress, the opaque clothing with sheer panels or simply a wear made of semi sheer fabric?
Ultra sheer fabrics require a good and solid coverage underneath them. Bandeau bras proved to be popular among celebrities wearing sheer clothing. It is solid without provocative lacy details and yet very smooth. Opt for a bandeau bra of the same or harmonizing color to wear with your sheer blouse.
As for colors in general consider couple of rules: it’s okay to wear black lingerie under white clothes, while it’s not okay to do otherwise. Contrasts are okay, but if you are not sure about how the two colors look together opt for skin-tone or same color underwear.
If you have sheer panels are in the upper part of your outfit opt for strapless bras, nipple covers or skin-tone bras. If the sheer panels are in the lower part of your outfit then choose skin-tone panties, C-string or invisible underwear. If your dress has a sheer back as the dress of Kate Bosworth opt for backless or adhesive bra. Pasties are also an option.
Things to consider: too much revealing sheer clothing almost always goes as a fashion faux-pas, especially worn at the public events and gatherings. Ultra sheer clothing is bedroom appropriate as it creates a wispy layer of mystery. Opt for semi-sheer clothing or the solid pieces with occasional sheer panels. Thus you will be safe from looking naked in public.
