Joe Corre, the co-founder of the lingerie giants, decided to leave Agent Provocateur to move on with his career.
The company’s CEO Garry Hogarth commented:
Over the past few months Joe has been focusing on other projects and I think he just felt – having achieved so much with Agent Provocateur – he wanted to move on to new challenges. The business is going well; we are four per cent up on last year and we have a very strong design team, so we are very confident about the future. We won’t be looking to replace Joe.”
The son of grand dame Vivienne Westwood will remain a shareholder of the brand without being involved into the creative process. He is going to concentrate on his menswear label, A Child of the Jago, and other, no less promising, projects.
Garry Hogarth is sure Agent Provocateur has a brilliant future as the company has lots of exciting and profitable projects.
He told Vogue.com:
We have several licensing deals in the pipeline. By the end of the week we will have signed a fragrance deal, jewellery is coming in association with BJD, sunglasses, umbrellas and we are also in talks about bedding – which fits the brand perfectly. We also have about seven international store openings projected for this year; including Moscow, Switzerland, Korea, Malaysia, Spain and Eastern Europe.”
