Jean Paul Gaultier to launch a lingerie line with La Perla
Famous for the conic bra he designed for Madonna in 1990s, extravagant fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier has never created a lingerie range before now – Jean Paul Gaultie has teamed up with La Perla for a special collection.
Gaultier lingerie collection consists of 27 styles including a Madonna-inspired waist-clinching corset and bra.
Two limited edition pieces from the line will be presented on July 7th in Paris, France. The complete Jean Paul Gaultier for La Perla collection will hit stores in November this year and include handmade corsets, high-waisted briefs, bodysuits, and bras in pink and black.
I met Jean Paul Gaultier a few months ago, and we immediately hit it off because we shared a common vision of beauty, style, taste and quality,” La Perla CEO Alain Prost said. “So we agreed to try this adventure together and unite our savoir faire.”
According to reports, the Gaultier/La Perla collaboration is a two year deal. In March 2011 Gaultier will add a swimwear line to his collection.
